Wavering English

Something odd happens when you come here. Your English changes. Gracious knows I am not quite sure how. But all of a sudden it become a little less American. It gains a different cadence. Has a bump to it and goes up instead of down at the end of a sentence. It isn't the Queen's English, it isn't Svengelska (Swedish wth an English accent) and it isn't Swenglish (Swede's have excellent English, that's what they speak). It has a personality of it's own. I hear it in the kid's English. I hear it in mine. It doesn't stop there though. You start incorporating words and forgetting others. You lose your American slang and ism's. You pick up saying thing like telly and phrases like "Loads of..." Hmmm ...
